My name is Jillian Sparen Hato. I was born in 2007, and I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember. Art has always been a natural gift—a part of who I am.

Although his parents were not artists themselves, Wesly Sparen and Marryelma Hato fostered an environment that encouraged Jillian’s creativity. From an early age, he painted, drew, and created handmade objects from materials found around his home and garden. With the freedom to explore and the unwavering support of his family, Jillian developed his own expressive visual language. Formal drawing lessons later strengthened his technique while allowing him to preserve the imagination and individuality that define his work today.

Every piece is created with purpose—honest, expressive, and completely his own.

Signature Story

Why Blue?

Blue became a signature in Jillian’s work because it carries both calm and strength. It connects the sea and sky of Curaçao with emotion, freedom and imagination. In every painting, blue creates space for the viewer to feel, reflect and discover a story of their own.
